Michael Reagan to Lead tour of Ronald Reagan-related sites
Excursion to Tampico, Dixon is part of Eureka College’s observation
of 99th anniversary of Reagan’s birth
Eureka College will observe the 99th anniversary of the birth of alumnus Ronald Reagan on Feb. 6 with a tour to Reagan-related sites that will be led by Reagan’s eldest son, Michael Reagan.
The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast and a tour of the Ronald Reagan Museum at Eureka College. Next, participants will travel via charter bus to the Ronald Reagan Birthplace in Tampico and the Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home in Dixon. The Dixon stop will include “Ronald Reagan’s 99th Birthday Celebration Luncheon” at Sauk Valley Community College with Michael Reagan as keynote speaker. The tour will return to campus in late afternoon.
The event marks the first time that Reagan will see his father’s birthplace and childhood home.
Cost is $99. A portion will go toward developing a scholarship for students transferring to Eureka College from Sauk Valley Community College.

The night before the tour, Reagan will speak at a dinner in Peoria for members of the Ronald W. Reagan Society.
Reagan is a Eureka College trustee, serving a four-year term that ends in May. He is president of the Reagan Legacy Foundation, which raises support for institutions that continue the legacy of his father, including Eureka College. He has written several books, including “The Common Sense of an Uncommon Man: The Wit, Wisdom, and Eternal Optimism of Ronald Reagan” and “The City on the Hill: Fulfilling Ronald Reagan’s Vision for America.” His most recent book is the autobiographical “Twice Adopted,” published in 2004.
