Dr. Paul Kengor, author of "God and Ronald Reagan" responds to the question: What kind of values and religious faith led Ronald Reagan to Eureka College?

Kengor is a political science professor and executive director of The Center for Vision and Values at Grove City College, Grove City, Pa., and a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution on War, Revolution, and Peace at Stanford University.

His 2004 “God and Ronald Reagan” explores the role Reagan's spirituality played in his political career to shape his ideas, bolster his resolve and ultimately compel him to confront the Soviet empire. His 2006 book, “The Crusader: Ronald Reagan & the Fall of Communism,” drew on newly declassified presidential papers, previously untapped Soviet media archives and exclusive interviews to document Reagan's lifelong crusade against Communism.

"Paul Kengor is certain to offer an important perspective on the roots of Ronald Reagan's servant leadership that will relate to our own lives today,” said John Morris, director of the Ronald W. Reagan Society. “The members of the Reagan Society continue to promote the same kind of leadership lessons that Eureka College helped instill in Reagan. We have a vision to help all people discover their authentic vision and voice, like Reagan did," Morris said.

Kengor also wrote “God and George W. Bush,” “God and Hillary Clinton” and “The Judge: William P. Clark, Ronald Reagan’s Top Hand.”

Kengor’s articles have appeared in numerous publications, including The New York Times, National Review, Washington Times and Wall Street Journal and in top refereed academic journals, including Political Science Quarterly and Presidential Studies Quarterly. He is a frequent contributor to MSNBC, C-SPAN, NPR and Fox News Channel. He is a frequent public speaker and has done work for think tanks, including the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Heritage Foundation and the Allegheny Institute for Public Policy.

Kengor received a doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs and a master’s degree from American University’s School of International Service.
